Just like Popeye, I love spinach. Probably any way that you can cook spinach I will love it. But sometimes the simplest way is best.

This is a recipe for sautéed spinach. The dish is fresh and delicious, with lots of garlic and pepper. Thats how I like it but you can season it any way you like. This is probably the healthiest side you can make and eat.

I really never understood why people shy away from it. It’s delicious and nutritious and it’s packed with iron and gives you strength and energy. Make some sautéed spinach today!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 1/2 lbs baby spinach
  • coarse salt and ground pepper
  • half a lemon, juiced

Instructions

  • 1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until golden, about 1 minute.
  • 2. Add spinach to skillet, adding in batches if necessary. Toss often until completely wilted.
  • 3. Season with salt and pepper. Toss with lemon juice before serving.
