Chocolate Mousse

This is a recipe for chocolate mousse. It’s pretty simple to put together and deliciously impressive when served.

I like to serve the mousse with some freshly shaved chocolate and some berries on the side. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coffee
  • 2 tbsp boiling water
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 oz butter
  • 6 egg whites
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp cognac

Instructions

  • 1. Mix coffee and boiling water. Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Add in coffee mixture, mix, and set aside to cool.
  • 2. Meanwhile, in another bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff.
  • 3. Slowly add egg yolks and liquor to cooled chocolate mixture. Mix well.
  • 4. Carefully fold chocolate mixture into the egg whites.
  • 5. Pour chocolate mixture into a deep dish. Refrigerate until set. If you want to serve in individual glasses fill each glass with a serving and refrigerate until set.
  • 6. Right before serving, top each glass with shaved chocolate. Enjoy!
