This is a recipe for almond cake. This cake is so simple to put together, who ever you will be serving this cake to will never believe it took minutes and so few ingredients to put this delicious cake together.

I love this cake because it actually tastes like I know what I’m doing in the baking department.┬áThose are ┬áthe ingredients of a perfect homemade dessert.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz almond paste
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter or margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup cake flour, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 oz sliced almonds
  • powdered sugar, garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • 2. Using a mixer, mix almond paste and sugar, and beat until evenly incorporated.
  • 3. In stages, add in margarine, mixing until the dough is smooth with no lumps.
  • 4. Add eggs, once at a time, beating between each addition. When the mixture is fluffy, add sifted flour, a little at a time. Stir in baking powder and salt.
  • 5. Pour the cake batter into prepared baking pan, top with the sliced almonds and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the cake.
  • 6. Remove the cake from the pan and let it cool until room temperature. Garnish with some powdered sugar. Enjoy.
